About Joy Burroughs
Joy Burroughs is a Native Floridian who brings more than 30 years of experience to her role as Litigation Paralegal at Perez Law Firm. Committed to passing her knowledge on to the next generation, she has also served as an Adjunct Professor at the State College of Florida.
Joy holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of South Florida (Go Bulls) and an Associate of Science in Paralegal/Legal Assisting from State College of Florida, a foundation she's carried into a career built around genuine, quality customer service. She is a NALA-designated Advanced Certified Paralegal – Civil Litigation Specialist (ACP) and stays active in the field through her membership with NALA – The Paralegal Association, the Southwest Florida Paralegal Association, and the Paralegal Association of Florida. She also serves as a board member of the State College of Florida's Paralegal Advisory Committee and is currently serving as the election chair for the Southwest Florida Paralegal Association.
Joy is known for her compassion and integrity, and for the honest, empathetic way she shows up for the people she helps. It's the personal connections she builds — and the difference she gets to make in people's lives — that keep her motivated every day.
Outside the office, Joy stays active as a bicyclist, runner, and hiker, and loves exploring what Florida's parks have to offer. When she's ready to slow down, you'll usually find her curled up with a good historical novel.
